Architects - Lost Forever; Lost Together

Guest Review by Aaron Jones

Architects latest offering brings together the best elements of their back catalogue. Using the anthemic tones and sounds of 'Here and Now' and the heavier, unforgiving elements of their last effort 'Daybreaker', the band have released an album that is perhaps their best to date. Each member is at the height of their powers; special notice going to the way lead singer Sam Carter has upped the intensity of his vocals to move in line with the social and cultural lyrics he has penned for the album, ensuring that the relevant tone remains strong throughout. It is heartening to listen to a band making an effort to voice their criticisms of the world at large and attempt to write something meaningful for their audience. The band are wearing their heart on their sleeve and the raw, visceral sounds that they have produced push the band to a higher level. The opening 'Gravedigger' grabs the listener as tightly as it could and for the remainder of the album there is barely a moment where it lets you go.

A band at their peak.
